At-home teeth whitening is suitable for patients who have already undergone in-office whitening but would like to achieve an even brighter result, as well as those who want to whiten their teeth but have limited time for clinic visits. The process begins with a dental appointment to take an impression of the teeth and create a customised whitening tray. The dentist will then provide the whitening gel and explain how to use it correctly. In most cases, patients are advised to wear the tray before bedtime and leave it in place overnight. For those who experience tooth sensitivity, the wearing time may be reduced. This method is convenient because repeated clinic visits are generally not required, and the cost may be lower than in-office whitening. However, it takes longer to achieve results and requires regular use and good discipline for the best outcome.
